Sofitel Mumbai BKC is showcasing Rajasthan’s rich vegetarian culinary heritage through The Maharaj Legacy, a special food festival being held at Tuskers from June 21 to 30, 2026. The ten-day culinary showcase brings together traditional recipes, regional ingredients and time-honoured cooking techniques that reflect the depth and diversity of Rajasthan’s celebrated food culture.
The festival, themed “When Heritage Travels,” features a collaboration between Maharaj Pratapgiri Swami of Tuskers and Maharaj Mahendra Singh Chundawat, Sous Chef at Fairmont Udaipur Palace. Inspired by the culinary traditions of Mewar, Marwar, Pali and Banswara, the two chefs have curated a menu that highlights recipes passed down through generations in royal households and local communities across Rajasthan.
According to the organisers, the festival aims to preserve and promote authentic regional flavours while introducing diners to the cultural stories behind each dish. The menu has been designed to showcase traditional preparations, indigenous ingredients and cooking methods that continue to define Rajasthan’s vegetarian cuisine. The initiative also celebrates the enduring connection between food, heritage and community.

Maharaj Pratapgiri Swami said Rajasthan’s cuisine is deeply rooted in the customs and traditions of the state, with every recipe carrying a legacy of family and culture. Maharaj Mahendra Singh Chundawat noted that many of the featured dishes draw inspiration from his roots in Banswara and reflect the warmth and authenticity of home-style Rajasthani cooking.
Guests can savour a selection of signature delicacies including Bajri Ki Rab, Ker Sangri, Dal Baati Churma, Gatte Ki Saag, Khoba Roti and Malpua served with Rabdi. The festival also draws inspiration from Fairmont Udaipur Palace’s “Zaika” dining concept, known for celebrating traditional Mewari cuisine and locally sourced ingredients.
Vividh Patil, Executive Chef at Sofitel Mumbai BKC, said the hotel remains committed to showcasing India’s diverse regional cuisines through immersive dining experiences that connect guests with the country’s rich culinary traditions.
The festival is available for lunch and dinner at Tuskers. Lunch thali experiences are priced at ₹2,250, while dinner set menus and à la carte offerings are available at ₹3,500, excluding taxes.
