Few restaurants in Mumbai have earned the acclaim and consistency enjoyed by The Table in Colaba. Recognised by The World’s 50 Best Restaurants, Condé Nast Traveller India and Wine Spectator, the restaurant has established itself as a leading destination for globally inspired cuisine and refined dining experiences.
Recently, I visited The Table for a quick lunch after reserving a table for two. Despite the restaurant being completely full, the service remained seamless and attentive throughout the afternoon. The vibrant atmosphere, coupled with the restaurant’s understated elegance, created a welcoming setting for a leisurely meal.
Being a vegetarian, I opted for a selection of dishes that showcased the kitchen’s versatility. The Warm Brioche arrived beautifully prepared and served with thoughtful accompaniments that highlighted the attention to detail that has become synonymous with The Table. The Mexican Bean Tacos followed, delivering a satisfying combination of flavours and textures while demonstrating how simple ingredients can be elevated through careful execution.

To conclude the meal, I chose the Tiramisu, which proved to be a delightful finale. Light, creamy and perfectly balanced, it was among the highlights of the lunch. Equally memorable was the Old Fashioned cocktail. As a regular admirer of this classic drink, I found The Table’s rendition particularly impressive, offering depth, balance and character in every sip.
Restaurant Manager Kapil Jaiswal and his service team ensured that guests received personalised attention despite the busy lunch service. Their professionalism and warm hospitality contributed significantly to the overall dining experience.
Adding to the occasion was the presence of Bhushan Rane, General Manager of The Table, who personally interacted with guests across the restaurant. During our conversation, he spoke about the restaurant’s commitment to hospitality and encouraged me to return for dinner to experience a different side of the menu and ambience. His hands-on approach reflected the guest-centric culture that has helped make The Table one of Mumbai’s most respected dining destinations. From the quality of the food and beverages to the attentive service, The Table delivered a memorable lunch experience that lives up to its reputation.
