Indian Army chief General MM Naravane on Monday met major business houses in Mumbai involved in the defence sector for the manufacture and supply of state of the art equipment for defence forces.
General Naravane, who was on a two-day visit to Mumbai, also visited the Western Naval Command where he was briefed about the stealth Guided Missile Frigate warship INS Teg, affiliated to the Sikh Light Infantry Regiment.
The Army Chief was also given a ceremonial guard of honour. He interacted with Vice Admiral R Hari Kumar, PVSM, AVSM, VSM, Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Western Naval Command. They discussed operational and administrative issues, including jointmanship between the two services.
General Naravane also called on Maharashtra Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari and discussed issues related to the welfare and resettlement of veterans in the state.
