Global South Media Dialogue Aims to Strengthen Cooperation Among Nations

The highly anticipated “Global South” Media Dialogue will take place on Tuesday, December 3rd, from 15:30 to 17:00 at the Crowne Plaza Quanzhou Riverview. This pivotal roundtable event, moderated by Tian Wei, CGTN Anchor, aims to advance media collaboration among “Global South” countries.

The dialogue will feature speeches by leading media representatives, including Fan Yun, Deputy Editor-in-Chief of China Media Group (CMG) and Editor-in-Chief of CGTN. Distinguished guests include media leaders from Africa, Asia, Latin America, and international organizations such as the United Nations Department of Global Communications. Prominent participants include Editor-in-Chief, Al Ain News & CNN Arabic Economic Channel, Executive Editor, International News Service, Bernama, Malaysia, Editor-in-Chief, Mumbai Messenger, India, Director, Greater Asia TV, Russia, President, Latin American News Agency (Prensa Latina) and many more.

The agenda includes discussions on media development, with multilingual interpretation provided on-site. Attendees are encouraged to wear formal attire as they engage in shaping the global media landscape.

It is worth noting that the “Global South” event is a significant platform for like-minded individuals to exchange ideas, reinforcing the vital role of media worldwide. CCTV has taken a commendable initiative by inviting leading journalists from various countries, demonstrating their commitment to media’s pivotal role in enhancing national development and fostering stronger global relations.
