The Maharashtra Postal Circle recently celebrated the winners of the Dhai Akhar Letter Writing Competition and Deen Dayal SPARSH Yojana 2024-25 at a special ceremony held at the Mumbai GPO. The event was graced by Amitabh Singh, Chief Postmaster General of Maharashtra and Goa Circle, Jayati Samaddar, GM (Finance), and Suchita Joshi, Postmaster General of Mumbai Region.
A total of 107,386 participants from across Maharashtra took part in the Dhai Akhar Letter Writing Competition, showcasing their creativity in this traditional form of communication. Twelve outstanding participants were awarded a prize pool of Rs. 1,60,000 for their exceptional entries. Additionally, the Deen Dayal SPARSH Yojana, which promotes philately, awarded Rs. 6000 scholarships to 40 students for their exceptional contributions to stamp collection.
Amitabh Singh expressed his pride in the winners, highlighting the importance of preserving traditional forms of communication like letter writing and philately. He praised the creativity and enthusiasm of the participants, pointing out that these initiatives reflect a bright future for these practices.
The ceremony reinforced India Post’s commitment to fostering literacy, creativity, and philately, inspiring the younger generation to embrace letter writing and stamp collection, ensuring these traditions remain relevant in the digital era.
