The Indian Hotels Company Signs Palitana Palace Under the Taj Brand in Gujarat

The Indian Hotels Company (IHCL) has announced the signing of the iconic Palitana Palace under the prestigious Taj brand, marking a new chapter in the region’s hospitality landscape. Located in Gujarat, the historic palace adds to IHCL’s growing portfolio of luxury properties, strengthening its presence in India’s rich cultural heartland.

  Puneet Chhatwal, Managing Director and CEO of IHCL, expressed immense pride in the partnership, highlighting Taj’s legacy of redefining luxury over the last 121 years. He emphasized the company’s commitment to preserving India’s rich heritage and expanding its portfolio of palaces, havelis, and forts. Chhatwal further noted that the addition of the Taj Palitana reinforces the company’s dedication to meeting the growing demand for luxury experiences in key spiritual and cultural destinations like Palitana.

  The Taj Palitana, which will undergo extensive restoration, promises a blend of historical charm and modern luxury. This 65-key property will feature opulent rooms and suites, along with fine dining options such as an all-day diner, specialty restaurant, and a lounge. Guests will also enjoy state-of-the-art amenities, including a gym, pool, and spa. With a focus on social and wedding events, the palace will offer a 3,000 sq. ft. ballroom, meeting spaces, and expansive outdoor lawns. Historical artifacts and royal art will be displayed throughout the hotel, preserving its regal heritage.

  His Highness Thakore Saheb Mandhatasinhji Jadeja of Rajkot, representing the Jadeja Royal Family, shared his pride in partnering with IHCL, emphasizing the significance of the collaboration in preserving Palitana’s heritage and enhancing its appeal to global travelers.

  Palitana, known for its spiritual and architectural marvels, will now welcome a new era of luxury tourism, with IHCL operating 29 hotels in Gujarat, including 10 in development.
