During current crisis of corona pandemic various social organizations and NGO’s have come forward in the support and helping needy people. These needy includes patients in public hospital, daily wagers, homeless and others, who are affected by the curfew imposed in Maharashtra in view of the Covid19 pandemic.
Thane’s leading charity organization “Marwaris In Thane Welfare”, has also come forward to do social commitments. This charity organization founded and run by Suman Agarwal has come forward for the aid of Covid 19 patients of state-run Thane Civil Hospital. Upon the request of District Administration and Civil Surgeon of Thane Civil hospital, they are supplying wholesome and nutritious food to all the patients in daily basis.
The charity organization is also supplying essential food commodities which are required for daily cooking. These include food materials that included Rawa, Maida, Sugar, Pure Ghee, Sewaiyan, Jaggery, Mineral water bottles and essential items such as soaps etc. Being the largest Govt. hospital in the district, a large number of patients are admitted for treatment in Thane Civil Hospital.
Marwaris in Thane welfare is one of the prominent social organization and known for charity. The group is actively involved in helping the poor and needy by providing them with food material and other essential commodities.
It may be noted that “Marwaris In Thane Welfare” being run by its founder and President Summan R Agrawal. She is also General Secretary of MPCC and well known to take a lead in charity whenever it needed most.
Suman Agarwal, speaking to Mumbai Messenger Newspaper said “We feel that as human beings, it’s our responsibility to help the most vulnerable amongst us in their time of need. We appeal to all citizens of Mumbai and Thane to join in our efforts. This is a time of pandemic and it’s a time for every individual to come forward for helping in noble cause. I consider this act of charity as her responsibility towards society”.
