In a major push to boost inbound tourism, Israel’s Ministry of Tourism will host 46 tour operators and 11 journalists from across the globe at the upcoming International Mediterranean Tourism Market (IMTM), scheduled for May 7–8, 2025, in Tel Aviv. The initiative is part of Israel’s ongoing efforts to strengthen its global tourism footprint and reinforce its image as an open, safe, and welcoming destination.
Israel’s Tourism Minister Haim Katz said the visit would play a key role in enhancing Israel’s international marketing strategy. “Hosting tour operators, particularly those visiting Israel for the first time, is a move that will enhance Israel’s marketing efforts abroad and help build the infrastructure needed to break records in incoming tourism. Their arrival reflects great confidence in the Israeli tourism product, which offers a unique blend of experiences unmatched anywhere else,” he said.
Delegates from 11 countries—including India, the US, UK, Germany, Italy, France, Spain, Russia, Brazil, South Korea, and the Philippines—will take part. Many participants are visiting Israel for the first time and represent leading travel and tourism publications.
During their stay, the group will experience a curated tour across Israel’s iconic tourist circuits and emerging attractions. Highlights include visits to Tel Aviv, Jerusalem, and the Dead Sea, as well as a gala event at the historic Knights’ Halls in Akko (Acre), organised in collaboration with the Government Company for the Development of Old Akko.
The delegation will also take part in professional networking events and B2B meetings with key players in Israel’s tourism sector to explore future collaborations and business opportunities.
The visit aims not only to showcase Israel’s tourism appeal but also to provide first-hand insights into the country’s cultural richness, culinary diversity, and post-pandemic recovery efforts in the tourism industry.
