Drug Haul: ₹11.78 Cr Marijuana Seized at Mumbai Airport

 The Customs officers of the Airport Commissionerate, Mumbai Customs Zone-III, have busted a major drug smuggling attempt, seizing 11.78 kg of suspected Hydroponic Weed (Marijuana) valued at approximately ₹11.78 crore.

  According to officials, the seizure was made at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (CSMI), Mumbai, on August 22. Based on profiling, Customs officers intercepted two passengers who had arrived from Bangkok on flight VZ-760.

  During the examination of their baggage, officials discovered the narcotic substance cleverly concealed inside a checked-in trolley bag.

  Both passengers were immediately taken into custody and have been arrested under relevant provisions of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, 1985.

  Authorities have launched a further investigation into the smuggling attempt.
