Royal Jordanian Airlines has welcomed Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s historic visit to the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, describing it as a key milestone in deepening bilateral relations as India and Jordan mark 75 years of diplomatic ties.

The visit to Amman features high-level engagements between Modi and King Abdullah II, underlining the growing strategic partnership between the two nations. Cooperation has expanded steadily across sectors including trade, infrastructure, renewable energy, education, tourism and people-to-people exchanges, reflecting a broader convergence of interests.

Royal Jordanian Airlines, as Jordan’s national carrier, said it plays an important role in supporting this evolving relationship through enhanced air connectivity. The airline’s direct Mumbai-Amman service facilitates diplomatic, business, leisure and faith-based travel, while also positioning Amman as a key transit hub for Indian passengers travelling onward to destinations in the Middle East, Europe and North America via Queen Alia International Airport.

Karim Makhlouf, chief executive officer of Royal Jordanian Airlines, said the Prime Minister’s visit signalled the strength of India-Jordan ties. He added that the airline remains committed to supporting greater mobility, tourism growth and business travel between the two countries.

India continues to be a strategic market for Royal Jordanian, driven by rising demand for leisure, pilgrimage and corporate travel to Jordan and beyond. The airline said it is strengthening capacity and connectivity between India and Amman to meet this growing demand.

The visit has also renewed attention on Jordan as an attractive tourism destination for Indian travellers, known for landmarks such as Petra, the Dead Sea and Wadi Rum, along with its rich religious and historical heritage.

Royal Jordanian actively supports ExploRJordan, the country’s official tourism platform, aligned with Jordan’s wider tourism strategy. Through partnerships and its expanding network, the airline aims to improve Jordan’s visibility and accessibility for Indian travellers and support the next phase of India-Jordan engagement.
