His Excellency Qin Jie, Consul General of the People’s Republic of China in Mumbai, met Suresh Deora, Honorary Secretary-General of the India-China Chamber of Commerce & Industry (ICCCI), to discuss the chamber’s activities, future initiatives and opportunities to strengthen economic and trade cooperation between India and China.
According to an official statement issued by the Consulate General of China in Mumbai, the discussions focused on the ICCCI’s efforts to promote business engagement, facilitate commercial exchanges and encourage investment between enterprises in the two countries. Deora briefed the Consul General on the chamber’s development, ongoing programmes and future roadmap to enhance bilateral business ties.
Qin Jie appreciated the ICCCI’s contribution to promoting trade and economic cooperation and encouraged the chamber to continue strengthening communication with Chinese businesses and institutions. He said industry bodies such as the ICCCI play an important role in connecting the business communities of both countries and creating platforms for dialogue, partnerships and investment.
During the interaction, Deora outlined the chamber’s vision of expanding bilateral trade through greater business-to-business engagement, industry collaboration and knowledge sharing. Both sides exchanged views on identifying new opportunities across sectors and encouraging closer cooperation between enterprises in India and China.
The Consul General expressed confidence that the ICCCI would continue supporting the healthy development of India-China economic relations by fostering stronger commercial linkages and facilitating regular interaction between businesses. He also encouraged the chamber to deepen its engagement with Chinese partners to unlock fresh opportunities for trade and investment.
The meeting underscored the importance of institutional cooperation in promoting economic dialogue and reflected the continued engagement between the Chinese Consulate in Mumbai and the ICCCI to strengthen bilateral commercial relations and support sustainable business partnerships between the two neighbouring economies.
