Maharashtra Governor Jishnu Dev Varma, accompanied by Skill Development Minister Mangal Prabhat Lodha, inaugurated Startup Frontier 1.0, a one-day startup exhibition and conference, at the Y.B. Chavan Auditorium in Mumbai on Friday. The event was jointly organised by the Ratan Tata Maharashtra State Skills University, the Maharashtra State Innovation Society and the iSpark Foundation.
During the inaugural session, the Governor launched HP Creative Gaming Garage, an online learning platform designed to enhance digital and gaming skills among students, and Medical Lab Technology, an online learning platform introduced by Metropolis Healthcare to strengthen healthcare education and training.
A key highlight of the event was the exchange of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the IITM Pravartak Technologies Foundation of IIT Madras and the Ratan Tata Maharashtra State Skills University. The agreement aims to promote collaboration in skill development, innovation, research and emerging technologies while creating new opportunities for students and young entrepreneurs.
The Governor also visited the startup exhibition, interacted with innovators and entrepreneurs, and reviewed several technology-driven solutions developed by startups.
Among those present were Manisha Verma, Additional Chief Secretary, Skill Development Department; Amit Saini, Commissioner, Skill Development; Ipsita Dasgupta, Vice President, HP Inc.; Dr. Prashant Narnaware, Secretary to the Governor; Dr. Shrikant Patil, CEO, Maharashtra State Innovation Society; Dr. Vaibhav Narwade, Registrar, Ratan Tata Maharashtra State Skills University, along with principals, faculty members, entrepreneurs and students from across Maharashtra.
