India and Belarus have reaffirmed their commitment to expanding bilateral trade, investment and industrial cooperation at the India–Belarus Business Forum held at the World Trade Center Mumbai. The event brought together government officials, diplomats, industry leaders, bankers and business representatives from both countries to explore new opportunities in manufacturing, innovation, technology transfer and economic development.
The forum highlighted the growing partnership between India and Belarus since the establishment of diplomatic relations in 1992. Participants noted that cooperation is increasingly extending beyond traditional sectors into advanced manufacturing, healthcare, education, science and technology, and innovation-driven industries.
Aliaksandr Matsukou, Consul General of the Republic of Belarus in Mumbai, addressing the gathering emphasized the strong foundation of bilateral ties and called for deeper economic engagement between businesses of both nations. He said the forum would help create new opportunities for trade, investment and long-term industrial collaboration.
Representatives of the Government of Maharashtra pointed out that India remains one of the world’s most attractive investment destinations. They highlighted Maharashtra’s ambition to become a US$1 trillion economy and identified Belarus as a valuable partner in sectors such as agricultural equipment, heavy machinery and industrial manufacturing.
