The Consul General of China in Mumbai, His Excellency Qin Jie, attended the 2nd Himalayan Rim Film Exhibition at Sathaye College, University of Mumbai, at the invitation of the organizers, where he delivered a keynote address.
Addressing students and faculty members, Consul General Qin introduced Xi Jinping Thought on Culture and emphasized the role of cultural exchanges in fostering mutual understanding among civilizations.
He said China and India play vital roles within the Global South and share important responsibilities in promoting peace, development and cooperation. Referring to the upcoming BRICS Summit to be hosted by India later this year, Qinhighlighted the importance of strengthening youth exchanges to advance bilateral relations.
Encouraging students to adopt a global perspective, he urged them to deepen their understanding of China–India relations, enhance mutual understanding through cultural and educational exchanges, and contribute youthful vitality to the friendship between China and India.
The exhibition brought together students, faculty members and guests, providing a platform for cultural dialogue and people-to-people exchanges through cinema.
