Chef Mukund Harlalka Appointed Unit Chef at La Taqueria by Mezcalita

Mumbai’s Mexican dining scene is witnessing another culinary leadership move with Mukund Govind Harlalka appointed as Unit Chef at La Taqueria by Mezcalita, the Mexican dining concept from Impresario Handmade Restaurants at Jio World Plaza, BKC.
Harlalka brings more than eight years of professional kitchen experience spanning premium hospitality, restaurants and catering operations. His career includes culinary and operational roles with leading hospitality organisations, including Hyatt and Marriott, where he gained experience in high-volume kitchen operations, menu execution, team management, food safety and cost control.
As Unit Chef at La Taqueria by Mezcalita, Harlalka will be responsible for the restaurant’s day-to-day kitchen operations, food quality and consistency. He will lead the kitchen team, oversee menu execution and work closely with the wider culinary and operations teams to maintain operational efficiency and guest-focused culinary standards.
La Taqueria by Mezcalita is part of Impresario Handmade Restaurants and operates at Jio World Plaza in BKC. The concept offers a contemporary and accessible approach to Mexican dining, with a focus on tacos, house-made masa, open-fire cooking and sharing plates. Its vibrant and casual format adds to the evolving dining landscape at the luxury retail and lifestyle destination.
Harlalka’s appointment comes as La Taqueria continues to establish its identity within Mumbai’s competitive restaurant sector. His experience in kitchen operations, menu planning, inventory management, food-cost control and team leadership is expected to bring a hands-on and operationally focused approach to the restaurant’s culinary team.
