Mumbai sees a decline in new COVID patients

Mumbai reports 1,447 new COVID cases, 62 deaths

The city of Mumbai continues to witness a drop in new COVID-19 cases after reporting a massive spike till last week.

Today, 5,888 people tested positive for the virus, taking the overall number of cases to 6,22,109.

On a positive note, 8,549 people also recovered in a span of 24 hours. The overall recoveries stand at 5,29,233.

The total number of active patients stands at 78,755.

The city also saw 71 more deaths, taking the overall death count to 12,719.

Among those who succumbed to the virus, 34 had co-morbidities, while 45 were above the age of 60.

The recovery rate now stands at 85 per cent and doubling rate at 45 days.

The number of active containment zones now stands at 122 and sealed buildings at 1,211.
