High alertness of Chennai Air Customs was once again successful for tracing drugs. Based on intelligence, Chennai Air Customs detained one postal parcel suspected to contain narcotics substance. On examination, the parcel was found to contain a plastic pouch; on opening it was found to contain pink colour tablets suspected to be MDMA, a narcotics substance. The parcel arrived from France at Foreign Post Office.
These tablets are known as “ACAB Pig” and were in the shape of a pig. There were a total 130 MDMA pills recovered and seized under the NDPS Act, 1985. The total value of this substance is around Rs. 4 lakhs.

The parcel arrived from Poulainville, a town in North France and was consigned to a Chennai city address. A team went for search at the consignee address but on reaching, the apartment was found to be locked. On enquiries it was found that nobody was residing there since lockdown. Further investigation is in progress.
