Farhan Akhtar's Toofan heads to Amazon Prime Video

Farhan Akhtar, who was last seen in The Sky Is Pink (2019), next stars in Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra’s Toofan. The forthcoming film will have a direct-to-digital release on Amazon Prime Video from May 21, 2021.

Produced by Ritesh Sidhwani (Excel Entertainment), Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra (ROMP Pictures), and Farhan Akhtar, the sports-drama also stars Mrunal Thakur in the lead role.

“After working with Farhan in Bhaag Milkha Bhaag (2013), I was certain he would be the perfect protagonist for Toofan. The best thing about him is that he does not act the part, but lives it completely,” said Mehra.

Toofan is a story that will motivate and inspire all of us to get out of comfort zones and fight towards achieving our dreams. We cannot wait to present our film to viewers across the globe,” he added.

Farhan Akhtar shared a new poster of the film on Instagram. He also announced that the film will release on Amazon Prime Video and its teaser will be out on March 12.

“At Excel Entertainment, we always try to tell stories that touch the heart and soul of the audience. We consistently strive to develop new concepts which can entertain and enlighten the viewers. With Toofan, we are presenting an inspirational sports drama that presents the story of a goon from the streets of Dongri set against the backdrop of boxing, his fall, and triumphant comeback against all odds in life,” Ritesh said.
