Substandard and adulterated cooking oil worth ₹32 lakh seized from Vasai

The Food and Drugs Administration (FDA) has seized a huge amount of spurious cooking oil during raids in the Palghar district of Maharashtra.

The material was seized from two firms in Sativali in Vasai.

The amount of the substandard cooking oil seized is to the tune of ₹32.51 lakh.

According to the FDA, it was found that substandard and adulterated oil was being repacked into old tins at the two units.

The seized cooking oil has been sent for testing.

The release said that once the lab reports are in, criminal cases will be filed.
