IMD warns of a thunderstorm and rainfall

KS Hosalikar, a scientist with IMD, has warned of thunderstorms from April 27 to May 1 in certain parts of Maharashtra.

“District level thunderstorm warnings issued by IMD Mumbai for Konkan, Madhya Maharashtra and Marathwada from 27th April to 1st May,” Hosalikar tweeted on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, thunderstorm developments over interior Maharashtra were reported today in the districts of Pune, Satara, Nasik, Aurangabad, Jalna, and Beed. Pune and Satara also reported hail storms at isolated places.

The IMD also issued a warning of lightning and gusty winds, moderate to intense spells of rain at isolated places in Pune, Nasik, Satara, Aurangabad, Beed, Jalna during the next three hours.

Mahabaleshwar also witnessed a hailstorm on Tuesday, reported the weather department.

Meanwhile, the IMD predicted a mainly clear sky for the next 48 hours in Mumbai. While the weather department predicted a maximum temperature of 35 degrees and a minimum of 26 degrees Celcius temperature for the next 48 hours in Maximum City.
