She is the daughter of renowned producer of Bollywood films Devender Kumar Chawla (Popularly known as DK Chawla). He has produced films Like Sahibaan starring Sanjay Dutt, Madhuri Dixit and Rishi Kapoor. He also produced Apna Desh Paraye Log. Paru, hailing from the film family, held the reins of the family business too, along with her Mother Sukarma Chawla and her brother Vikas Chawla.
