Following in the footsteps of the festival’s tradition and culture, The Indonesian Consulate General in Mumbai with all staff celebrated Diwali, the festival of lights at the consulate at Altamount Road in Mumbai on November 3, 2021. This year’s Diwali celebration is very meaningful because this year it was celebrated directly in a simple family gathering of the Indonesian Consulate General in Mumbai.

His Excellency Agus P. Saptono, the Consul General of the Republic of Indonesia in Mumbai wished everyone present at the celebration. He wore traditional festival attire Kurta and Pyjama and light sparklers and distributed sweets and gifts.

Diwali festival is known as an illustration of tolerance for cultural diversity, especially in the Consulate General of the Republic of Indonesia in Mumbai. It may be noted that the Indonesian consulate in Mumbai always celebrates Indian festivals and spread happiness.

His Excellency Agus P. Saptano, Consul General of the Republic of Indonesia in Mumbai, speaking to Mumbai Messenger Newspaper said “Diwali is the most awaited festival for Indians in the whole year, so we share your happiness and wish all the countrymen a very “Happy Diwali”. Diwali is a festival to celebrate light over darkness, hope over despair and love over hatred. ‘It is a festival that brings together people of all faiths and communities and unites humanity”.
