Bhutan Parliament Speaker wants tourism ties with Maharashtra

Bhutanese Parliamentary Delegation with The Governor at Raj Bhavan

A high-level delegation led by the Speaker of the National Assembly of Bhutan Wangchuk Namgyel met Maharashtra Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari on 8th February, 2023 at Raj Bhavan, Mumbai.

Speaking on the occasion, Speaker Wangchuk Namgyel called for strengthening tourism ties with Maharashtra. He said India as also Maharashtra has many sites related to Buddhism which are of interest to the people of Bhutan. Stating that Maharashtra is home to the famous Ajanta and Ellora caves. The speaker felt that tourism cooperation with Maharashtra will help people from both countries to visit each other.
