IHG Hotels and Resorts has announced a management agreement with Aaraki Hotels and Resorts to launch the Holiday Inn Resort Dharamshala by the third quarter of 2027. This new addition will strengthen IHG’s position in India’s thriving leisure and hospitality sectors, offering 150 rooms in the scenic Himalayan town of Dharamshala.

The resort, located at an altitude of 5,000 feet, promises to attract both domestic and international travellers. Dharamshala, known for its natural beauty and spiritual significance as the home of the Dalai Lama, offers an ideal backdrop for experiential tourism.

The Holiday Inn Resort Dharamshala will feature modern amenities including standard rooms, suites, an all-day dining restaurant, a fitness center, versatile meeting spaces, and an innovative Open Lobby concept for work and relaxation. IHG’s expansion in this region aims to meet the growing demand for leisure travel in India.

Sudeep Jain, Managing Director for South West Asia at IHG, expressed enthusiasm about the venture, while Manish Kakkar, Managing Partner of Aaraki Hotels and Resorts, highlighted the unique charm of the destination as a key factor in their collaboration.
