A seminar was organized on Sunday, 30th March 2025, in Sathewadi, Thane, under the Samaj Jodo Abhiyan. It was aimed at promoting unity and upliftment within the Balmiki community and society at large. A significant gathering was held under the Coordination Committee, with participation from numerous social organizations, intellectuals, and thinkers. Throughout the event, the focus remained on unity, progress, and collective action, with leaders emphasizing the importance of greater solidarity within the community.
The seminar was chaired by Biram Singh Keer, and saw participation from various social organizations, intellectuals, and thinkers. The event emphasized unity, progress, and collective action, with leaders stressing the need for stronger solidarity within the community to drive positive change and uplift society.
The meeting centered around four key points, with all the dignitaries present asked to share their opinions. Emphasis was placed on encouraging dialogue on related agenda. Throughout the discussion, the ground realities and challenges faced by the community were examined in detail.
The meeting addressed issues with caste certificates, population calculations, and the community’s economic, social, political, educational, and health conditions. Participants emphasized the need for a unified strategy and collective action. All organizations agreed to work together for the community’s rights and dignity, pledging support whenever necessary.
The guests who attended the meeting included Rajpal Marothia, Lalit Marothia, Dilip Chauhan, Nandu Saude, Satpal Mehrol, Naresh Bohit, Naresh Bhagwane, Jagdish Kheraliya, Raja Balmiki, Shri Behanwal, Rajesh Chauhan, social worker Munesh; Manish Sambhuk, Anand Dhakoliya, Lalit Marothia, Narsi Jhala Kaka, Ashok Balguher, journalist Ramprakash Nirala, Surajpal Chindaliya, and Nathuram Jagturam Bohat.
Raja Balmiki expressed, “I am happy that this platform has raised the burning issues of our community. These youths are the torchbearers who will carry forward the legacy we began long ago for the community’s cause. I am ready to support this forum wholeheartedly, morally or by offering any financial help whenever needed for a good cause.”
In his appeal at the conclusion of the meeting, Jagdish Kheraliya urged all organizations to submit consent letters from their respective groups to the coordination committee. This would help provide clear direction for future collective efforts, ensuring organized action towards the betterment of society.
Special gratitude was extended to the organizing committee and all the organizers for their unwavering efforts in ensuring the success of the event. The key organizers of the seminar included Yashpal Mewati, Dheeraj Dhingan, Rakesh Marothia, Jaiprakash Dagori, Naresh Bohit, Sanjay Dhingan, Sagar Karautia , Pradeep Bhagwane, Gaurav Tagore, Mukesh Saude, Premnath Teji, and Rajesh Jinwal. Additionally, heartfelt appreciation was given to the local workers of Sathewadi, along with Rajesh Chindaliya and his team, for their invaluable contributions to the success of the event.
At the conclusion of the program, Yashpal Mewati expressed that it was a celebration of the spirit of togetherness, and a clear message that the road to progress is best travelled when we walk together.
