Sonale Zagade, a seasoned hotelier with over two decades of experience, has taken over as the new General Manager of Hyatt Regency Ahmedabad. She brings with her more than 20 years of rich industry experience, including over 13 years with Hyatt Hotels Corporation, making her a true Hyatt veteran. Widely regarded in the hospitality industry as a “hardcore Hyatt professional,” Sonale is known for her strong operational leadership, people-first management style and consistent focus on delivering the highest standards of guest experience.
She joins the Ahmedabad property from Hyatt Regency Gurgaon, where she served as General Manager and successfully steered the hotel through a phase of operational strengthening and service excellence. Her distinguished career within the Hyatt system includes senior leadership roles at Hyatt Regency Chennai, Hyatt Regency Mumbai and the flagship Grand Hyatt Mumbai, one of the brand’s most prominent hotels in the country. Her extensive experience in managing large, diverse teams and handling complex hotel operations is expected to add significant value to the Ahmedabad property.
Sonale’s leadership philosophy is centred on warm, personalised service, with a strong emphasis on anticipating guest needs and enhancing experiences across rooms, dining and events. She aims to further position Hyatt Regency Ahmedabad as a vibrant destination for both business and leisure travellers by introducing curated culinary and cultural collaborations with local partners. At the same time, she plans to strengthen the hotel’s standing as a preferred venue for meetings, conferences and social celebrations.
Equally important to her is building a strong internal culture where colleagues feel supported, engaged and motivated to deliver exceptional service. She believes that a motivated and empowered team is the foundation of long-term guest loyalty and sustainable business success, and she is committed to continuous training and talent development within the organisation.
With a clear focus on responsible hospitality, Sonale is also driving sustainable practices across hotel operations, ensuring that the property balances commercial growth with environmental responsibility and community well-being. Leveraging the hotel’s contemporary spaces and expansive event venues, she plans to further enhance guest experience through elevated service standards, smart use of technology and continued investment in people and processes.
Speaking on her new role, Sonale said, “Ahmedabad is an exciting and evolving market, and Hyatt Regency Ahmedabad is well placed to grow with it. My priority is to support and develop our people, refine our product to match modern guest expectations, and build deeper connections with the community and travellers who choose our hotel. I am excited to lead the team into this next chapter.”
