The Consular Corps Association of Mumbai (CCAM), in collaboration with the Honorary Consular Corps Diplomatique (HCCD), hosted a diplomatic evening at World Trade Center Mumbai, bringing together diplomats, government officials, and international partners to deepen global cooperation.
The Chief Guest, Shri. Jaykumar Rawal, Hon’ble Minister of Protocol and Marketing, Government of Maharashtra, highlighted the importance of people-to-people diplomacy and trade linkages, noting that Maharashtra continues to strengthen engagement with the diplomatic corps to foster international partnerships.
Dr. Vijay Kalantri, Chairman of HCCD Mumbai and Vice Dean of CCAM, emphasized the role of consular networks in building bridges between economies, cultures, and institutions, stating that Mumbai has emerged as a vibrant hub for global engagement.
Sven Östberg, Incoming Dean of CCAM and Consul General of Sweden, noted that modern diplomacy is increasingly collaborative, driven by shared challenges and opportunities, and stressed the importance of sustained dialogue across cultures.
The evening also recognized the contributions of Mr. Martin Maier, Outgoing Dean of CCAM, appreciating his efforts in strengthening cooperation and unity within the consular community.
The diplomatic evening witnessed strong participation from members of the consular corps, business leaders, and policy stakeholders, turning the gathering into a dynamic platform for exchange of ideas, perspectives, and opportunities for collaboration across trade, investment, education, and cultural engagement, with discussions focusing on enhancing bilateral ties and promoting sustainable economic growth through international cooperation and shared development goals, further reinforcing Mumbai’s position as a leading hub for global diplomacy and commerce in India and beyond.
The event concluded with networking interactions and renewed commitments to strengthen diplomatic engagement and foster long-term partnerships between nations, with participants expressing optimism about expanding cooperation in emerging sectors such as technology innovation and green energy while also emphasizing the importance of continued dialogue through platforms like CCAM and HCCD to sustain momentum in global collaboration.
Participants also noted Mumbai’s growing role as a gateway for international diplomacy trade and cultural exchange reinforcing the city’s status as a key global meeting point for policy and business leaders worldwide collaboration and growth initiatives ahead.
