Deputy Collector Santosh Jadhav awarded Certificate of Excellence by Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde

Maharashtra Revenue Service Officer and Deputy Collector of Slum Rehabilitation Authority (SRA) Santosh Jadhav was awarded Certificate of Excellence by Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde. The recognition was given in the presence of Dr. Sanjay Mukherjee, Metropolitan Commissioner, Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) and Dr. Mahendra Kalyankar, CEO, Slum Redevelopment Authority (SRA).

The award recognises Santosh Jadhav’s significant contribution in expediting the rehabilitation of 17,000 slum dwellers in Mata Ramabai Ambedkar Nagar and Kamaraj Nagar in Ghatkopar, Mumbai. His efforts in taking this important slum rehabilitation programme forward at a fast pace have been instrumental in improving the living conditions of many people in the suburbs in a timely manner.

After being recognised by the state government, Santosh Jadhav received felicitation from the entire team of revenue officials and other dignitaries. The support and acknowledgement from his peers and distinguished guests highlighted the significance of his contribution to the slum rehabilitation programme.

Santosh Jadhav commented, “It was a very challenging task to be completed in a time bound manner. This recognition is not my individual achievement but a result of the collective effort and hard work of the entire SRA team guided and supported by MMRDA Commissioner Dr. Sanjay Mukherjee and SRA CEO Dr. Mahendra Kalyankar whose complete support was crucial. Apart from expediting the project, the support of my senior officers was crucial in completing this important task within the stipulated time frame.

The Mata Ramabai Ambedkar Nagar and Kamaraj Nagar joint venture project, will be developed on about 31.82 hectares of land and will benefit about 17,000 slum dwellers. In the last three months, under the overall guidance of Metropolitan Commissioner Dr. Sanjay Mukherjee and Dr. Mahendra Kalyankar, Santosh Jadhav along with Shivaji Davbhat and his SRA team reviewed about 14,000 documents of 17,000 slum dwellers, confirming the eligibility of more than 10,000 people. It was a huge task in reality, but it was done in a quick and efficient manner, ensuring timely development. Completed through an efficient process, benefiting the slum dwellers.

The process involved collecting documents from slum dwellers, meticulously scrutinizing them in a timely manner, and meeting with each beneficiary. After authentication and verification of eligibility, a biometric process was completed to finalize eligibility. Despite election duties and regular responsibilities, this process was expedited and successfully brought to completion.
