Radhakrishnan at Raj Bhavan in Mumbai on October 24, 2024. The Honorary Consul of the Slovak Republic in Mumbai, Amit Choksi, was also present at the occasion. This was a goodwill meeting aimed at strengthening ties between Slovakia and India.

Slovakia, which emerged as an independent nation following the split from Czechoslovakia, is recognized as a leader in various sectors, including engineering, vehicle manufacturing, defense, metallurgy, and green hydrogen.

During the meeting, Ambassador Maxian emphasized Slovakia’s eagerness to collaborate with India in areas such as green hydrogen, wastewater management, meteorology, and cybersecurity. He also mentioned that Slovakia is the largest car manufacturing country in the world, producing significant quantities of vehicles for brands like Hyundai, Volkswagen, Jaguar, and Land Rover.

The ambassador also highlighted Slovakia’s expertise in managing urban wastewater, with operations in over 200 locations in China, and expressed optimism about similar cooperation with India.

Ambassador Maxian invited Indian filmmakers to consider Slovakia as a filming location, citing the success of the Amitabh Bachchan film “Chehre,” which has positively impacted tourism in the country. He encouraged Indian tourists to explore Slovakia’s natural beauty, historical castles, skiing opportunities, and spas.

Governor Radhakrishnan responded positively, indicating he would invite filmmakers to Raj Bhavan for discussions about potential collaborations in Slovakia. He also noted the growing popularity of football in India and suggested that organizing exhibition matches could further strengthen relations between the two nations.
