Jamaica has once again reaffirmed its tourism leadership in the region by securing multiple top honours at the 2025 Caribbean edition of the World Travel Awards, widely regarded as the “Oscars of the travel industry.” The island walked away with the coveted title of Caribbean’s Leading Destination for a record nineteenth time, underscoring its position as one of the Caribbean’s most desirable and consistently performing tourism hubs.
The World Travel Awards recognise outstanding achievement in aviation, accommodation, tourism development, and visitor experience. Jamaica’s strong showing this year is being seen as a direct result of its continued investments in tourism infrastructure, destination marketing, and high service standards offered by its hospitality workforce.
“Jamaica continues to punch above its weight by surpassing expectations in its hospitality delivery. These accolades underpin the excellent contribution of our people, who are at the heart of the sector. We are truly grateful for this recognition as we are on the cusp of welcoming five million visitors to our shores and earning five billion US dollars for our economy,” said Minister of Tourism, Hon. Edmund Bartlett.
The destination also received top recognition as Caribbean’s Leading Cruise Destination, solidifying its standing within the global cruise tourism circuit. Several Jamaican hotels, airport services, and tourism operators were honoured across additional categories.
“Our island continues to be top of mind through our authentic tourism experiences, from food to music, and this recognition cements Jamaica as a top-tier destination,” said Donovan White, Director of Tourism. Jamaica’s continued wins reinforce its reputation for cultural authenticity, hospitality excellence, and sustained tourism innovation.
