Dr. Vijay Kalantri, President of the All-India Association of Industries (AIAI) and Chairman of the World Trade Center (WTC) Mumbai, met today with Shri Rajesh Aggarwal, the newly appointed Chief Secretary of Maharashtra, to reinforce cooperation on the state’s long-term economic strategy. The discussion centred on accelerating Maharashtra’s progress toward its ambitious target of becoming a one trillion-dollar economy.
During the meeting, both leaders exchanged views on measures needed to enhance trade, attract investments, and strengthen Maharashtra’s position as India’s leading economic powerhouse. Dr. Kalantri reiterated WTC Mumbai’s commitment to supporting the state’s global outreach, industry expansion, and reform-driven development.
Congratulating Shri Aggarwal on assuming his new role, Dr. Kalantri said, “Maharashtra is on the right track of continuous reform-driven governance. Sectors such as IT, textiles, green energy, and manufacturing are poised to become the drivers of the state’s future economic growth. With an experienced and dynamic administrator like Mr. Rajesh Aggarwal, we are confident that Maharashtra will achieve its one trillion-dollar economy goal.”
The meeting was also attended by Ms. Priya Pansare, Director, Trade and Investment Promotion, WTC Mumbai, and Mr. Santosh Kotre, Director, Accounts and Finance, WTC Mumbai, who conveyed their best wishes to the Chief Secretary and expressed support for collaborative initiatives in the state’s development agenda.
