Backed by more than 20 per cent year-on-year growth in Indian visitor arrivals for two consecutive years, the Taiwan Tourism Administration (TTA) has stepped up its India market strategy for 2026 with two key trade initiatives — a Taiwan Mega Roadshow in Delhi and a strong participation at OTM 2026, India’s leading outbound travel exhibition.

The initiatives align with Taiwan’s global destination branding campaign, “Taiwan – Waves of Wonder,” and underscore TTA’s sustained focus on India as a priority source market for leisure, luxury and MICE travel. OTM 2026 will be held from February 5 to 7 at the Jio World Convention Centre in Mumbai.

The Delhi Mega Roadshow, scheduled ahead of OTM, is aimed at strengthening engagement with travel trade stakeholders from Delhi NCR, India’s largest outbound travel hub. Around 125 senior travel trade buyers are expected to attend, with presentations highlighting Taiwan’s diverse tourism portfolio across leisure, premium experiences and MICE segments.

The roadshow will feature interactive engagement zones such as a selfie booth, AI photo booth and digital jigsaw puzzle, along with live performances by Taiwanese artists. An experiential element will be added through a showcase of Taiwanese cuisine, including bubble tea, fried chicken and Kavalan whisky, offering attendees a flavour of the destination.

Both the Delhi roadshow and OTM participation will be supported by a delegation of over 25 Taiwanese tourism stakeholders, including tour operators, destination management companies and representatives of the Taiwan Visitors Association, along with officials from the Taiwan Tourism Administration.

Following the Delhi engagement, TTA will focus on expanding its reach across western and southern India through OTM 2026. The Taiwan Pavilion at the exhibition will feature a wave-inspired design reflecting the “Waves of Wonder” campaign and will highlight Taiwan’s year-round tourism appeal, premium leisure offerings and established MICE infrastructure targeted at Indian corporate and incentive travel segments. Cultural performances and interactive activities will form part of the pavilion experience.

Commenting on the market outlook, Paul Shih, Director – Singapore Office, Taiwan Tourism Administration, said India has emerged as one of Taiwan’s most strategically important tourism markets, with focused initiatives delivering growth rates well above overall outbound travel trends.

In 2025, Taiwan recorded 46,134 visitor arrivals from India, representing a 20.90 per cent year-on-year increase. With India’s outbound travel expected to grow steadily, TTA said it remains committed to deepening trade partnerships and driving sustainable growth from the market.
