Cambodia has intensified its engagement with the Indian travel market by hosting a familiarisation (FAM) trip for leading Indian travel trade professionals under the Cambodia Travel Match (CTM) 2026 Mini-Series – India Special Edition, an initiative aimed at strengthening tourism cooperation and creating new business opportunities between the two countries.
The programme was facilitated by TRAC Representations and jointly organised by the Pacific Asia Travel Association Cambodia Chapter (PATACC), the Ministry of Tourism, the Cambodia Tourism Board (CTB), the Cambodia Tourism Federation (CTF) and the Indian Chamber of Commerce in Cambodia (ICC).
The itinerary enabled delegates to assess Cambodia’s tourism infrastructure, cultural attractions and emerging travel experiences while interacting with tourism authorities, hospitality partners and local industry stakeholders.
The delegation began its visit in Siem Reap, where participants completed the visa-on-arrival process before touring the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Angkor Wat. A traditional cultural welcome introduced delegates to Cambodia’s heritage, performing arts and hospitality.
The programme extended beyond the country’s iconic monuments to include heritage landmarks, eco-tourism initiatives and community-based projects. During the journey to Phnom Penh, delegates visited the historic Naga Bridge and the Smiling Gecko social development project, highlighting Cambodia’s growing emphasis on sustainable and responsible tourism.
In Phnom Penh, Indian travel professionals participated in two days of business-to-business meetings with Cambodian tourism suppliers to explore partnerships across leisure travel, MICE, group travel and customised holiday packages. The delegation also visited the Royal Palace and the National Museum, where exhibits reflected the long-standing cultural and historical links between India and Cambodia.
The visit concluded with a tour of Koh Rong Island, showcasing Cambodia’s expanding beach tourism offerings. Tourism stakeholders expressed confidence that the FAM trip would strengthen industry partnerships, encourage joint marketing initiatives and contribute to higher visitor arrivals from India in the coming years.
