Seven Kitchens at The St. Regis Mumbai is bringing together two distinctive culinary experiences over the Independence Day weekend, celebrating India’s rich cultural heritage through food, nostalgia and hospitality.
The celebrations begin with an Anglo-Indian Independence Day Lunch on 15 August, followed by a special Navroz Brunch on 16 August. The back-to-back experiences invite guests to discover two deeply rooted culinary traditions, highlighting the diverse influences that have shaped Mumbai’s food culture.
The Independence Day Lunch features a curated selection of comforting classics and heritage-inspired favourites. Guests can savour Fish Rissole, Railway Mutton Curry, Country Captain Chicken, Braised Tofu in Oyster Sauce and Dundee Cake. The selection brings together familiar flavours and recipes that reflect the Anglo-Indian culinary legacy and the traditions of gathering around the dining table.
Adding an interactive element to the afternoon, guests will also be invited to participate in a specially curated Mosaic activity inspired by Indian folk art. Participants can paint individual numbered mosaic tiles before placing them onto a larger artwork. As more guests take part, the individual pieces will gradually come together to create a collective installation.
The celebrations continue on 16 August with a special Navroz Brunch inspired by the warmth, generosity and festive spirit of Mumbai’s cherished Parsi community. Drawing from the meeting of Persian and Indian culinary traditions, the brunch features family recipes and celebratory favourites including Patra ni Macchi, Berry Pulao, Salli Murgh, Jardaloo ma Gosht and the classic Lagan nu Custard.
Together, the two experiences showcase India’s diverse culinary traditions while combining authenticity, craftsmanship and refined hospitality. The weekend offers guests an opportunity to experience heritage through food while celebrating the spirit of togetherness associated with both occasions.
