Celebrity Chef Rakesh Sethi, Corporate Executive Chef at Radisson Hotel Group is geared up to prepare meals for the President of India, H.E. Ramnath Kovind at Gorkahpur in Uttar Pradesh (UP) on 28th August, 2021. Chef Rakesh Sethi is exclusively flown down from New Delhi to Gorakhpur and the entire President’s luncheon banquet meal would be prepared under his supervision. Chef Rakesh Sethi has also served former President of India R Venkatraman at Rashtrapati Bhavan, earlier. 

 The President of India is arriving for a special event at Gorkahpur on Saturday 28th, August, 2021. During his visit to Gorakhpur he will lay a foundation stone of Ayush University. He will also inaugurate Maha Yogi Guru Gorakhnath Ayush University, Gorakhpur. It specializes in Ayurveda, yoga & naturopathy, Unani, Siddha and homoeopathy (AYUSH).

 The other dignitaries who would be dining with The President include Governor of UP Anandiben Patel, Chief Minister of UP Yogi Adityanath. The President’s entire family would be accompanying him. Special invitees, ministers and top officials also would be joining for the meal.

 Chef Rakesh Sethi has curated an exclusive menu as per the government protocol along with his team of chef’s. The elaborate menu has numerous popular delicacies from local to global. The menu being served is pure vegetarian. Indian President’s tour to is Gorkahpur is historical so the food too. Special care has been taken to include choices of dishes liked by the president of India in consultation with Rashtrapati Bhavan’s official chef. 

 Celebrity Chef Rakesh Sethi in his message said “ It is a great honour to serve food to the Honourable President of India, Governor of Uttar Pradesh and Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh during a VIP Luncheon”.

It may also be noted that meals for the President and Prime Minister of India are prepared with high secrecy and with high security coverage all around the designated area. Those persons, who were issued special passes by the President’s security panel, are allowed to enter the kitchen and service areas. Those who would be cooking and serving the food will be completely out of bound while on duty for the President of India’s banquet. The ingredients used for the president’s food are thoroughly checked by numerous security and intelligence agencies before it is taken for use in the kitchen. Once the food is prepared, it is re-checked by multiple security agencies before storing it at an appropriate place, and then sealed. Before serving the food, it is again re-checked by security personnel. The entire cooking and service areas are cordoned off, with sniffer dogs deployed every nook and corner. The cooking and function areas are sanitized by security agencies and under round the clock surveillance of CCTV.

 Chef Rakesh Sethi highlighted that the President’s luncheon meal would be prepared for 100 VVIP and VIP guests. The meal will begin with refreshments, snacks and a main course. Chef Rakesh Sethi and General Manager Abhishek Kumar Singh are taking extensive care and management to make this event a mega success.

 About Chef Rakesh Sethi: Celebrity Chef Rakesh is a name synonymous in every household of India and abroad. Sethi is currently corporate executive chef of Radisson Hotel Group. He is popularly known for his cooking show, namely Mirch Masala on StarPlus.

Career: Sethi passed out from Institute of Hotel Management, (IHM) Pusa in 1982 and began his culinary career as a Hotel Corporation of India (HCI) unit chef. In the 2000s, he hosted a show named Mirch Masala on StarPlus which had a running length of over 160 episodes.  Sethi was part of Padma Shri Awardee Chef Sanjeev Kapoor’s team, which created the Guinness world record by preparing 918 kilogram of Khichdi at the World food India exhibition in 2017. He is a strong operations professional skilled in Culinary Skills, Restaurant Management, Culinary Management, Sanitation and Recipe Development. He has worked as Celebrity Chef and Editor on FoodFood channel of Celebrity Chef Sanjeev Kapoor. Chef Sethi has worked for India’s prominent hotel chains that includes, The Leela Kempinski, Mumbai, The Oberoi, New Delhi, InterContinental The Grand New Delhi, Taj Air Catering, New Delhi, Ramada Plaza New Delhi. He has also worked as Network Culinary Head for all TV and radio shows for Reliance Broadcast Pvt Ltd.
