Thomson Andrews Reunites with Pritam for Haiwaan Track Rangiyara

Singer, composer and vocal arranger Thomson Andrews has reunited with composer Pritam for Priyadarshan’s upcoming film Haiwaan, following their earlier association on Cocktail 2. Thomson has contributed the English lyrics and English vocals to the film version of the much-awaited track ‘Rangiyara’.
The English portion of the song features during a ferry ride guitar-vocal jam sequence involving Saif Ali Khan and foreign artistes in the film. The track gives Thomson an opportunity to bring together his experience in singing, songwriting and vocal arrangement.
Speaking about the collaboration, Thomson Andrews said, “Working with Pritam da is always an amazing experience. What I truly value about him is the trust he places in the artists he works with and the creative freedom he gives me as an artist within the film music framework. He gives you the confidence to explore, experiment and bring something of your own to the music.”
Thomson said Pritam also gave him the opportunity to be part of Haiwaan’s music dubbings and sessions and work with filmmaker Priyadarshan.
“Because of Pritam da, I got the wonderful opportunity to be a part of Priyadarshan sir’s Haiwaan. To be associated with a project like this and have my creative contribution become a part of its music is a very special feeling. I am thankful for the faith Pritam da has shown in me and the opportunities he continues to give me,” he said.
Meanwhile, Thomson Andrews is preparing for the release of ‘Jai Bappa Morya’, a devotional single under his Thomson Andrews Collective banner for Ganesh Chaturthi. The song is composed by Thomson Andrews, with lyrics by Prasun Gupta and music by ADROIT. It brings together singers from different parts of India, with each artiste contributing to the celebratory track.
“Ganesh Chaturthi is a celebration that brings people together, and I wanted the song to capture that exact emotion. Each voice brings its own culture, energy and flavour, and that is what makes the song special,” Thomson said.
With projects spanning film music, composition, songwriting and collaborative releases, Thomson Andrews continues to explore different facets of his musical work through varied creative associations.
