Aaishvary Thackeray, grandson of the late Shiv Sena founder Balasaheb Thackeray, is all set to make his Bollywood debut with renowned filmmaker Anurag Kashyap. Aaishvary, who started his career as an assistant director on the 2015 hit Bajirao Mastani, has completed the 69-day shoot for his debut film in Lucknow. While details about the project remain under wraps, it has already generated significant buzz in the industry.

According to a report from India Today, sources close to the project have revealed that Anurag Kashyap’s collaboration with Aaishvary Thackeray has become a frequent topic of discussion in meetings, with the film emerging as one of the most anticipated releases among production houses.

Despite his high-profile family background, Aaishvary Thackeray has maintained a relatively low public profile. He is the son of Smita and Jaidev Thackeray and the grandson of the legendary Balasaheb Thackeray, a towering figure in Maharashtra politics. His uncle, Uddhav Thackeray, served as the Chief Minister of Maharashtra.

Balasaheb Thackeray, a key political figure, was known for founding Shiv Sena, a right-wing party that advocated for the rights of Marathi-speaking people and Hindu nationalism. Thackeray’s influence in Maharashtra was immense, and he was a controversial figure known for his aggressive political tactics. He began his career as a cartoonist before founding the political weekly Marmik, which helped him build his influential presence in the state’s politics. Balasaheb remained a dominant figure in Maharashtra until his passing on November 17, 2012.
