Raj Bhavan Pays Tribute to Maharshi Valmiki on Valmiki Jayanti

On Tuesday 7th October 2025,  floral tributes were offered to the portrait of Maharshi Valmiki on the occasion of his birth anniversary at Raj Bhavan, the official residence of the Governor of Maharashtra. Officers and staff of Raj Bhavan participated in the ceremony to express their respect for the great sage.

  Dr. Prashant Narnaware, Secretary to the Governor, led the ceremony by offering floral homage to Maharshi Valmiki. Deputy Secretary to the Governor S. Ramamoorthy, Comptroller of the Governor’s Households Dr. Nishikant Deshpande, ADC to the Governor Lt. Vikram Kumar, and other officers and staff of Raj Bhavan were also present and paid their respects.

  During the event, the life and contributions of Maharshi Valmiki were remembered. Valmiki is renowned as the author of the epic Ramayana and is regarded as the first poet in Indian literature. His literary works and teachings continue to guide people on morality, ideals, and social service.

  The ceremony highlighted reverence for Maharshi Valmiki and emphasized the importance of preserving social and cultural values. Attendees pledged to follow his ideals and promote ethics and righteousness in society.

  The program at Raj Bhavan served as an important occasion to honor Maharshi Valmiki’s contributions and to recognize his enduring significance in Indian culture.
